So here is the story. This weekend Dad went to Vienna. He had originally planned on running in the full marathon, and then, because he wasn't able to train properly for the full, he decided he would just run the half. We (mom and the boys) stayed home because we thought Vienna would be tough with the boys and because it was going to cost us a small fortune to stay in town for the weekend. We didn't feel bad because he was only going to run the half. Well, I guess Dad got totally taken in by the whole pre-race environment and decided to go ahead and run the FULL marathon--even though he hadn't trained and hadn't run in about 4 weeks. He ended up running the Vienna Marathon in 4 hours and 7 minutes...only 2 minutes shy of his other Vienna Marathon time back in 2006 (and yes, he trained for the 2006 marathon). Tim actually had his best marathon experience yet---no cramping, and he didn't hit a wall. So we had to interrupt our Tuscany pictures to tell Dad congrats and at least post a picture of the boys holding a race sign...just imagine the background is Vienna. I think Kian would have been in a better mood if we had really been in Vienna---i know mom would have been...
