Reading letters

This post is for Dad. We just recently discovered that Kian knows his letters! Since Dad isn't here, we wanted to show him our progress. Maybe there is still hope that he will be a nerdy bookworm---not that mom is pressuring him or anything.

A milestone!

Okay, so ordinarily we wouldn't encourage potty talk, but in this case, it's totally appropriate as Kian finally pooped in his potty!! It happened tonight, and fortunately his Grammy was right on top of the situation as she was able to catch all of Kian's verbal and non-verbal cues. I will, of course, spare you of any potty photos, but we do have one of a somewhat bewildered Kian sitting on his throne. Mom was running so she missed the actual event (don't worry, i was only a minute late), but from what Grammy said, Kian was a little freaked out by the whole process. Well, maybe he was just freaked out by the entire family screaming and clapping around him while he was in such a vulnerable position. Oh well, who knew poo could be so exciting!

After dinner nap

A few pics to keep Dad in the loop

Now that Dad is in Ohio, and we are still in Atlanta, be prepared to see lots of random shots of us. Hope you like the pics Dad!

Just Jude

Dirty...

CLEAN!

Because we have so many pictures of Kian, i'm going to try to make more of an effort to take some solo shots of Jude. Kian usually tries to steal the scene, so lunch time (Kian's nap time) is usually the best time to get Jude alone.

Shout outs...

Kian gives a few shout outs to some of his friends...

Banana phone

Kian LOVES Bananas! In fact, on this particular night, he managed to get a banana off the counter. Ordinarily I would have let him eat it, but he had just finished one banana, and this would have been his 4th banana of the day! Thus, in an attempt to distract him from eating the banana, we turned it into a game...and this is what we got.

Just goofing off

Is there any resemblance? Mom doesn't think so, but one thing is for sure, they are both going to be creating a lot of mischief together.

Jude!

Updates, updates, updates...

Jude had his 6 month well baby check yesterday--even though he was 8 months. With all the traveling, we weren't able to get him in for a check up, but don't worry, he got his 6 month shots before we left Aviano. Jude weighed in at 19.10 lbs and 29.5 inches long. That puts him in the 85th percentile for height and 25th for weight--basically long and skinny. He is turning into quite the explorer and seems to be much more inquisitive than Kian was at his age. I was hoping he would be a nerdy bookworm, but it looks like i'll have another mini-Tim.
Kian hit his own milestone yesterday when he successfully peed in the potty! This was totally unexpected and quite a surprise, but hopefully we are making some potty progress. It's amazing how excited one can get over pee in a potty!!

The morning after...

Kian eats his breakfast with one hand, while clutching his Elmo balloon in the other. This is the perfect example of a two year old multi-tasking.

Family photo

It took three attempts, but we finally got one without Kian goofing off--kind of.

Is this a smash cake???

Let them eat Cake

Have you noticed that the theme is Sesame Street??

As usual, Kian's best friend is always by his side---of course, the cake is also an added benefit.

Jude makes a good impression

Jude sits with his Godmother Auntie Urse and cousins Vickie and Julie.
Finbar and Jude wait for some cake...Finbar is secretly jealous of Jude's hat.

Tees Please

Mom made us these cool Tees for Kian's Birthday...too bad it was virtually impossible to get us to sit still for a picture.

T-Shirts for Yay Yay!

Mom made these t-shirts for Uncle JJ's birthday. If you look closely, you will see two different JJs at two different ages...Hey Uncle Yay Yay, love the hair!
Drool time!

In Kian's life, there are three big icons: Elmo, Ernie, and Uncle Yay Yay. One night when Kian was reluctant to go to bed, he was heard crying out "ERNIE, ELMO, YAY YAYYYYYY!"

Happy Birthday Uncle Yay Yay.

Jude poses with Auntie Angela.

Mom couldn't decide which photo she liked best, so she just posted them both.
